Peaceful Oaks Bed and Breakfast :: Jackson, Tennessee

Chris and Johnnie Sampson are the owners and operators of Peaceful Oaks Bed and Breakfast. A Canada native, Chris was brought to the states several years ago with his profession and soon obtained his U.S. citizenship. When he’s not working on a new project around the property, you’ll find him restoring vintage cars in his much-loved workshop. Johnnie is a true West Tennessean with a kind spirit. She enjoys yoga, University of Tennessee ladies’ basketball and a good book. Both Chris and Johnnie have worked the majority of their careers in the corporate world.

The couple purchased the 36-acre property now home to Peaceful Oaks Bed and Breakfast in 1998. They immediately fell in love with its secluded and spacious landscape – perfect for their two teenage boys at the time – and couldn’t wait to uncover its hidden potential.

Ten years later, after the children had left the nest and much hard work had gone into rejuvenating the property – both on the inside and out – Chris and Johnnie followed their dream and opened up their house for others to enjoy.

As for their hosting style, the couple attributes it to those they've met during their travels who provided them with some of the most memorable experiences – even when they were strangers in an unfamiliar land. Simply put, they take great pride in warm and personal hospitality.
